2nd Annual In His Image Awards
This past Sunday was my church's second annual "In His Image" Awards. This is the end of the year banquet where those who have worked hard are recognized. My husband decided he didn't want to go so I made it a girls night out with just my daughter and me.
i had no intentions that we would match and didn't even realize that we did until I saw the picture! I found my daughter's dress at Macy's for $20. She absolutely loved it. I found my dress on sale at JCPenny. I wore the black wrap with it because I don't like to wear sleeveless clothes and the dress was a bit to big and reavealed a little more than I would have liked at the top. I really do like it though so I plan to have it altered and maybe wear a camisole under it to give me complete coverage. :)
I think this was my first formal event with my hair in its natural state. Loved it and can't think of any reason to go back.
What a great mother-daughter photo! I have a similar picture from a church banquet with my daughter when she was about 4. Just like you two,we were able to find matching dresses. It's one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteA super photo!! I love the silver & black combo, very nice. This is a picture for keeping, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies!
ReplyDeleteI think you and your daughter are beautiful! She is becoming quite a young lady...almost to the question...Which one is the mom?!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marci! I know right, She'll be taller than me soon!
ReplyDeleteYou guys look beautiful and I love your hair. I recently went all natural too. Wouldn't dare return to the chemicals.
ReplyDeleteO.k. You two really favor! Such a beautiful picture. That was really special to have a mother/daughter night out. Love it! Hope you had a wonderful time :o). Beautiful hair, btw.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kysha! I know, right. I can't imagine ever going back.
ReplyDeletePP-My family says she is my twin. :) Thanks so much for the hair compliment. I am really loving being natural.
Love the natural hair! It is very becoming. The dresses are pretty and how fitting that they matched...I thought you were going to say In His Image meant something about your children being in your image, but nonetheless, beautiful photo and memory!
ReplyDeleteI love the dresses! Your daughters are very beautiful.
