The Path of Life

This morning in my devotional time, I read about the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. The children of Israel were surrounded on every side by mountains, water and the Egyptians behind them. It seemed that there was no path for them to take, but that of defeat. But God, through the faith of Moses, carved out a path for them that was only made possible through them exhibiting faith as well.

As I meditated on this passage, I thought about ants. Proverbs 6:6 says "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise". I thought about how ants travel along a path. You can't see it, but it is definitely there. Have you ever tried to wipe away their path? The result is confusion and disorientation. That is exactly what happens to us when we stray from the path that God has laid out for us. We become confused and distraught.

May we take time to listen to the voice that says "this is the way walk, walk ye in it" (Isaiah 30:21), that we may find fullness of joy in the presence of God (Psalm 16:11).

Be blessed my friends.

  1. I think it's cool to think of what it would have been like to be there at the Red Sea. It would have been terrifying but it also would have been awe inspiring to see God work!

  4. Cassandra-I often try to imagine it myself. Wow!

Marci-Ants are some of those most amazing creatures to me!

Ann-Sometimes even when I don't want to choose the path I know God is leading me in, I know for sure the one I'm on is going no where fast! I never regret choosing His path.
